Ingredients

  • 1 cup Cornmeal
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup Sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1 Egg beaten
  • 8 Hot dogs
  • 2 cups Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions 

  1. In a large bowl, combine cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Stir in milk and beaten egg until smooth.
  3. Insert wooden skewers into hot dogs.
  4. Heat oil in a deep fryer or large saucepan to 375°F (190°C).
  5. Dip hot dogs into batter, coating evenly.
  6. Fry 2-3 minutes or until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
