Main Ingredients
- 1 cup Chopped Dates
- 1 cup Boiling Water
- 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
- ½ cup Butter softened
- 1 cup Sugar
- 2 units Eggs beaten
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- 1 ½ cups All-purpose Flour
- ½ teaspoon Salt
- ½ cup Chopped Nuts walnuts or pecans
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan.
In a bowl, combine dates, boiling water, and baking soda. Let it sit for 15 minutes.
In another bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, and mix well.
Stir in the date mixture. Gradually add the flour and salt, mixing just until combined. Fold in the chopped nuts.
Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Bake for 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
