Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 4 cups Milk
  • 5 Eggs separated
  • ¾ cup Sugar
  • 1 cup Heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon Nutmeg ground
  • ¼ cup Rum optional

Instructions 

  1. In a saucepan, heat milk until warm.
  2. In a bowl, whisk egg yolks and sugar until creamy.
  3. Slowly add warm milk to egg mixture, whisking constantly.
  4. Return mixture to saucepan and cook until thickened.
  5. Remove from heat and let cool. Stir in cream, vanilla, and nutmeg.
  6. In a separate bowl, beat egg whites until stiff peaks form.
  7. Fold egg whites into cooled mixture. Add rum if desired.
  8. Chill before serving.
