Feijoada Brazilian Black Bean Stew Recipe
A traditional Brazilian black bean stew with pork and sausage.

Main Ingredients
- 1 lb black beans soaked overnight
- 1 lb pork shoulder cut into chunks
- 0.5 lb smoked sausage sliced
- 0.5 lb bacon chopped
- 1 onion chopped
- 4 cloves garlic minced
- 2 bay leaves
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Water as needed
Soak the black beans overnight.
In a large pot, cook the bacon until crispy. Remove and set aside.
In the same pot, brown the pork shoulder and sausage. Remove and set aside.
Sauté the onion and garlic in the pot until translucent.
Add the beans, meat, bay leaves, salt, and pepper to the pot.
Cover with water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for about 2 hours or until beans are tender.
Adjust seasoning and serve hot.
