Ingredients

  • 2 cups Masa harina
  • 1.5 cups Warm water
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Refried beans for filling
  • 1 cup Shredded cheese for filling

Instructions 

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine masa harina, warm water, and salt. Mix until a dough forms.
  2. Divide the dough into 8 equal portions and shape each into a ball. Flatten each ball into a thick disk.
  3. Heat a griddle or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the gorditas for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  4. Slice each gordita open and fill with refried beans and shredded cheese. Serve warm.
