Ingredients 

Dough

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup milk

Soup

  • ¼ cup butter
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 2 large potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • to taste salt and pepper

Instructions 

  1. In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt. Add eggs and milk, mix until dough forms.
  2. Roll dough into small balls (knoephla).
  3. In a large pot, melt butter and sauté onion until soft.
  4. Add chicken broth and potatoes. Bring to a boil.
  5. Add knoephla to the pot. Cook until potatoes and knoephla are tender.
  6. Stir in heavy cream. Season with salt and pepper.
  7. Simmer for 10 more minutes. Serve hot.
