Instructions 

  1. 1. Wash the potato thoroughly and pat it dry.
  2. 2. Poke several holes in the potato with a fork.
  3. 3. Place the potato on a microwave-safe plate.
  4. 4. Microwave on high for 5 minutes.
  5. 5. Turn the potato over and microwave for another 5 minutes.
  6. 6. Check if the potato is tender. If not, microwave in 1-minute increments until done.
  7. 7. Let it cool for a minute, then slice open and add salt and butter to taste.
