Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 4 fillets Catfish fresh
  • 1 cup Cornmeal
  • ½ cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • ½ teaspoon Black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon Cayenne pepper
  • 1 cup Buttermilk
  • 2 cups Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions 

  1. 1. In a shallow dish, combine cornmeal, flour, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
  2. 2. Pour buttermilk into another shallow dish.
  3. 3. Dip each catfish fillet into the buttermilk, then dredge in the cornmeal mixture, pressing to coat well.
  4. 4. Heat vegetable oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat.
  5. 5. Fry the catfish fillets in batches until golden brown and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  6. 6. Remove the fillets and drain on paper towels. Serve hot.
