Dough
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- ¼ cup sugar
- ½ cup milk warmed
- ¼ cup butter melted
- 1 egg beaten
1. In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of flour, yeast, and sugar.
2. Add warm milk and melted butter. Mix well.
3. Add the beaten egg and remaining flour. Knead until smooth.
4. Let the dough rise for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
5. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
6. Divide the dough into 12 pieces. Flatten each piece and wrap it around a sausage.
7. Place kolaches on a baking sheet and let rise for another 20 minutes.
8. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
