Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • ½ cup vodka
  • 1 can crushed tomatoes (28 oz)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ¼ cup fresh basil, chopped

Instructions 

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add chopped onion and cook until translucent, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes, cook for another minute.
  4. Pour in vodka and let it simmer until reduced by half, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Add crushed tomatoes and stir well. Let it simmer for 10 minutes.
  6. Stir in heavy cream and cook for another 5 minutes.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Remove from heat and stir in grated Parmesan cheese and chopped basil.
  9. Serve over your favorite pasta.
