Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb Red Beans dried
  • 6 cups Water
  • 1 Onion chopped
  • 1 Bell Pepper chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Thyme dried
  • 2 Bay Leaves
  • 4 cups Cooked Rice

Instructions 

  1. 1. Rinse and sort the red beans.
  2. 2. In a large pot, add beans and water. Bring to a boil.
  3. 3. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 1 hour.
  4. 4. Add onion, bell pepper, garlic, salt, black pepper, thyme, and bay leaves. Simmer for another 30 minutes.
  5. 5. Remove bay leaves. Serve beans over cooked rice.
